Since 2016, I'm employed as Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino, were I graduated in Architecture with a thesis prepared as visiting researcher at the Cracow University of Technology.
In 2009 I concluded a Ph.D. in Spatial Planning, discussing the dissertation EU Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning Systems. Building on the Eastwards Enlargement of the EU.
In recent years, I participated in several international research projects including, including the FP7 project MILESECURE-2050, ESPON 2.3.1 Application of the ESDP, ESPON 2.3.2 Governance, ESPON FOCI – Future Orientation for Cities, ESPON SMART-IST - Smat institutions for territorial development, ESPON TANGO - Territorial approaches for new governance, ESPON COMPASS - Comparative Analysis of Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning Systems in the EU and LisGo: The Potentials for Regional Policy Instruments, 2007-2013 to Contribute to the Lisbon and Goteborg objectives. My research focusses on the comparative analysis of EU territorial governance and spatial planning systems and, more in particular, on the Europeanization of spatial planning and on the role of territorial knowledge communities in promoting spatial planning policy shifts.I'm involved in the activities of the Alta Scuola Politecnica, and taught and researched in Germany (University of Kaiserslautern) Poland (Wroclaw University of Technology), Estonia (University of Tartu), England (University of Newcastle), France (University Paris Sorbonne), Turkey (Izmir University of Technology). I published numerous contribution in various international scientific journals, and I'm member of the editorial board of Europe XXI, Transactions of AESOP and Spatium. In addition I'm been actively involved in the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP) since 2005, as a member and head of the AESOP Young Academic Network Coordination Team (2006-2007), as a member of the AESOP Executive Committee (Communication Officer, 2008-2013) and as a national representative (since 2016).
