Many cities worldwide are investing in urban greenery programmes to create more liveable urban environments, particularly, through the implementation of urban forest and agriculture strategies in densely populated areas.
The integration of these practices into the urban planning and policy systems, the implications in terms of socio-environmental justice and delivery of ecosystem services deserve research attention. Thanks to international experts, this PhD seminar aims at providing insight on dynamics characterizing urban governance in relation to urban forestry and agriculture policies and practices around the world. What are the main innovations and challenges in governing urban and peri-urban areas devoted to forest and agriculture nowadays? And how can them be more responsive to urban and peri-urban communities’ needs?
