Enrico Macii è nato a Torino il 7 febbraio 1966. Dal 2001 è Professore Ordinario di Sistemi di Elaborazione delle Informazioni presso il Politecnico di Torino. In precedenza, è stato Professore Associato (dal 1998 al 2001) e Ricercatore Universitario (dal 1993 al 1998) presso il medesimo Ateneo. È stato anche “Adjunct Faculty” presso la University of Colorado at Boulder dal 1991 al 1997. Ha conseguito la Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica presso il Politecnico di Torino nel 1990, la Laurea in Scienze dell'Informazione presso l'Università degli Studi di Torino nel 1991 ed il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria Informatica e dei Sistemi presso il Politecnico di Torino nel 1995. Ha ricoperto la carica di Vice Rettore del Politecnico di Torino, inizialmente (2007-2008) con delega per le Relazioni con la Commissione Europea, successivamente (2009-2016) con delega per la Ricerca, a cui si sono aggiunte la delega per il Trasferimento Tecnologico (2009-2015) e la delega per l’Internazionalizzazione (2012-2015).
