Urban Landscapes in High Density Cities

The one-and-a-half day symposium will provide an interdisciplinary and global perspective on urban landscapes in the context of densely built cities. Bringing together international scholars and experts from a variety of fields, the event will discuss the social significance of urban landscapes, the ecological and economical benefits they offer, the way different landscape interventions relate to the urban environment, and new design approaches to respond to the challenges of the contemporary city.

Jointly organized by Politecnico di Torino and the National University of Singaporethe symposium is part of the collaborative research project entitled Socio-Ecological Assessment of Urban Landscapes: a Comparative Study sponsored by Politecnico di Torino with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo, Torino, within the framework of the Joint Projects for the Internationalization of Research.
