A Research Map of Urban Landscapes at The University of Tokyo

The Environmental Planning and Design Research Group of The University of Tokyo was established in 2008.
This presentation will share the latest research topics of the research group, as well as their backgrounds and main outcomes. For example, reduction of disaster risks by urban green infrastructure, estimation of heat stress in 2020 Tokyo Olympic, health and ecosystem benefits of urban agriculture, and rehabilitation of shrinking and aging cities.

Bio
Akiko Iida is a Japanese urbanist and researcher. Her research examines how to reduce disaster risks and enhance well-being by urban green infrastructure. She also practices various urban planning projects through collaboration with local municipalities. Iida received a PhD from Department of Urban Engineering, The University of Tokyo in 2012 and is now working as a project assistant professor for the Master’s Program in Sustainable Urban Regeneration at The University of Tokyo.
