Handbook on Infrastuctures and Cities

This comprehensive Handbook presents a thorough discussion of infrastructure as a social phenomenon. It compiles diverse perspectives to delineate the current ‘infrastructural turn’ and assess policy and research challenges relating to contemporary forms of infrastructural development.

Speakers:
Olivier Coutard is a socio-economist. He holds a master's degree in transportation socio-economics (1988) and a PhD in economics and social sciences (ENPC 1994).
He is researching the governance of urban infrastructure services (water and energy supply, telecommunications, urban
transportation), reforms in those sectors and their social, spatial and environmental implications.

Daniel Florentin is a lecturer in environment and urban studies at Institut Supérieur d’Ingénierie et de Gestion de l’Environnement (ISIGE, Mines Paris Tech). His research interest for the past ten years has been in urban infrastructures, particularly urban water, energy services and road infrastructures, mainly in European contexts.
