Urban Landscapes & Urban Parks: Turin as case study from interdisciplinary perspectives

h. 9.00 a.m. - Sala Vigliano, Castello del Valentino, Politecnico di Torino

A half-day seminar at Politecnico di Torino to discuss the ecological, socio-cultural, and economic dimensions of urban landscapes. This is the second of a series of events jointly organized by the National University of Singapore and Politecnico di Torino as part of the collaborative research project entitled “Socio-Ecological Assessment of Urban Landscapes: a Comparative Study” sponsored by the Politecnico di Torino with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo, Torino, within the framework of the Joint Projects for the Internationalization of Research Initiative. While the first seminar, held at the National University of Singapore in September 2016, focused on case-studies in Singapore, this second seminar will consider Turin and its metropolitan region, exploring the varied range of ecological, socio-cultural, and economic benefits urban landscapes can provide.
The seminar is also part of the program of the Ph.D. Course “Urban Landscapes: Trends, Approaches, and Planning Tools” within the Ph.D Program in Urban and Regional Development at Politecnico di Torino.
