Climate migrants, built environments and feelings of place attachment

h. 5:00 pm | Online

Seminar cycle «DISTant Talks: PhDs behind the scenes» organized by Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Development

Welcome: Marco Alioni, Politecnico di Torino
Speakers: TugbaAltin, RutgersUniversity| Newark (New Jersey, UnitedStates)

This review examines the literature on place attachment and climate migration for a better understanding of the relationship between the built environment, climate migrants, and their feelings of place attachment. Through these perspectives, the discussion is centered around two fundamental discussions: forced displacement’s psychological and place-wise impacts on people, and the role of environmental dimensions on the recent migration trends.
