Navigating Taobao villages: platform-led urbanization in Rural China

The event entitled "Navigating Taobao villages: platform-led urbanization in Rural China. A PRE-FIELDWORK REPORT", part of the China Room seminar series, will be held at the China Room of the Castello del Valentino.

Sofia Leoni discusses her current doctoral research, which aims at spatially examining the emergence of e-commerce
platforms in some rural areas in China, taking the “Taobao Rural initiative” as the main case study.

The presentation will be discussed with the China Room fellow Astrid Safina, and the PhD Candidates Lidia Preti and Hanqing Zhao.
