Explore and describe a heritage site by your smartphone

Castello del Valentino and Villa della Regina - Torino

The Pocket Lab will fully explore the possibilities of creating knowledge and analyses of a heritage site by use of a smartphone. Collecting and linking data and information, setting up a digital tool for research purposes, adding critical selection and interpretation, is what students will learn and test during this intensive workshop. They will study a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Reine’s Villa, analysing both the architecture and the garden, thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Ministry of Culture.

Japanese and Italian students in the field of architectural heritage will do teamwork, sharing their background and practices, tutored by KIT and PoliTO professors, and hosted by the Post-Graduate School in Architectural and Landscape Heritage (SBAP).

Participants
A dozen students of both universities will participate, under the supervision of a joint team of instructors.
