Inquiring Heritage Fieldwork and Framework in China and India
Saurajeeta Bose Paul (Joint Ph.D. program between Politecnico di Torino and Tsinghua University) will discuss her ongoing research with professor Qing Feng (Assistant Professor, Tsinghua University), the research fellow Lidia Preti (Politecnico di Torino), and the architect Kruti Patel (Co-founder at all.collectives Design Studio, and Assistant Professor at Navrachana University).
How does the 20th century heritage making process and regulations in India and China redefine the understanding of modernity in these countries? The research focuses on the parallel study of the 20th century heritage frameworks in New Delhi and Beijing, the respective capital cities of these two countries. The seminar invites suggestions to commence fieldwork as participation in the ongoing public debate and as applied research in the heritage making process.
