Industrial Heritage, Mega-Event, and Urban Regeneration | Interdisciplinary Methods and Case-Based Reflections

Xinwen Zhang (XXXIX cycle, PhD Candidate in Architecture. History and Project, Politecnico di Torino) will discuss her ongoing research with Huishu Deng (Assistant Professor, Tsinghua University), Yicheng Wang (Postdoctoral Researcher, Politecnico di Torino), and Jingxiong Huang (Joint Ph.D. program between Politecnico di Torino and Tsinghua University).

The research investigates how cultural events act as catalysts for the adaptive reuse of industrial heritage in contemporary cities. It explores methodological challenges and potentials, highlights interdisciplinary approaches, and shares recent empirical studies to inspire new perspectives on spatial transformation, heritage value, and urban regeneration.
