Call for Participation – Extended Deadline: 20 May 2026

Colonial Echoes, Urban Futures: Archives, Memory, and Generative AI in Postcolonial Critique is a multidisciplinary seminar and workshop that explores how colonial archives and urban histories can be critically reinterpreted through Generative AI.

The event is organised by the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning (DIST), Politecnico di Torino, and coordinated by Pelin Bolca (Assistant Professor in History of Architecture) and Alessandro Aliberti (Assistant Professor in Information Processing Systems). It will take place on 4–5 June 2026 at Castello del Valentino, Turin, Italy.
Bringing together scholars and practitioners across disciplines, the seminar addresses key questions related to the politics of the archive, algorithmic bias, and the ethical implications of AI in the interpretation of urban and historical narratives.

The programme includes keynote lectures by Patricia Morton (University of California, Riverside; Past President of the Society of Architectural Historians) and Roger Louis Martinez-Davila (University of Colorado), alongside speakers and contributions from Manuel Sánchez García (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain), Derya Karadağ (FMV Işık University, Turkey), Tommaso Cherubini (New Media Artist, Generative AI Expert, Italy).
