Cosmologies #04 READING LAB - Architectural knowledge and the design studio
COSMOLOGIES. Rethinking Anomalies in Urban and Architectural Research on China and Beyond
A series marking the 10th anniversary of the China Room research group
Fourth event of the Cosmologies series. Reading Lab: Architectural knowledge and the design studio
How is architectural knowledge learned, practiced, and transmitted? Which pedagogical devices support critical reflection and the development of new forms of spatial and collaborative imagination - both in the design studio and beyond it?
Building on the series’ broader reflection on anomalies as productive sites of research, this roundtable turns to architectural education as a space where knowledge is produced, tested, and transmitted.
Focusing on three articles from the debate, the event will be moderated by Valentina Labriola and Sofia Leoni, in dialogue with Sarah Becchio and Paolo Borghino (DAD, Politecnico di Torino / ErranteArchitetture), Luca Mostarda (AMArchitectrue, ETHZ, DAD, Politecnico di Torino), and Yan Yu (Shenzhen University).
