ARCHITETTURA MEDIEVALE: IL TRECENTO

Nei giorni 2 e 3 dicembre 2019, presso la sede del Castello del Valentino del Politecnico di Torino, si terrà il convegno internazionale di studi “Architettura medievale: il Trecento. Modelli, tecniche, materiali”, organizzato nell’ambito del progetto MHP (Medieval Heritage Platform) del Dipartimento interateneo di Scienze, progetto e politiche del territorio.

L’obiettivo dell’evento sarà la presentazione delle ricerche più aggiornate e innovative sul tema dell’architettura europea del XIV secolo, nella prospettiva di favorire uno scambio di conoscenze fra studiosi di diverse nazionalità e discipline. Saranno infatti giudicate con interesse non solo le proposte di studiosi dell’architettura, ma anche provenienti da altre discipline come la storia, l’archeologia, la storia dell’arte, privilegiando gli studi improntati secondo un impianto multidisciplinare. Le lingue ufficiali del convegno saranno l’italiano, l’inglese e il francese.

Il convegno si svilupperà in quattro sezioni tematiche:
I. Chiese e ordini religiosi
II. Palazzi e architetture civili
III. Castelli e strutture fortificate
IV. Materiali, tecniche, soggetti costruttori

A conclusione del convegno si prevede la diffusione dei risultati attraverso la pubblicazione in volume che prevedrà un processo di valutazione dei saggi in peer review in doppio cieco.

Gli studiosi interessati a partecipare possono inviare al Comitato Scientifico le loro proposte sotto forma di abstract (1500 caratteri), allegando un breve cv e specificando la sezione tematica di afferenza, attraverso la compilazione del form.

On 2-3 December 2019, the international conference "Medieval Architecture: the Fourteenth Century. Models, Techniques and Materials" will be held at Politecnico di Torino, Castello del Valentino, organized as part of the MHP (Medieval Heritage Platform), project of the inter-university Department of Sciences, project and territorial policies.

The aim of the event will be the presentation of the most up-to-date and innovative research on the subject of 14th century European architecture, with the intent to promote an exchange of knowledge between scholars of different nationalities and disciplines. Not only the proposals of architectural scholars, but also those coming from other disciplines, such as history, archeology and the history of art, will be judged with interest, favoring studies based on a multidisciplinary framework. The official languages of the conference will be Italian, English and French.

The conference will be developed in four thematic sections:

I. Churches and religious orders
II. Palaces and civic architecture
III. Castles and fortified structures
IV. Materials, techniques, workshops

The final aim of the conference will be the dissemination of the results through publication in a volume, with a double-blind peer review process.

Scholars interested in participating can send their proposals to the Scientific Committee in the form of abstracts (1500 characters), attaching a brief cv and specifying the thematic section, by completing the form.
