FREE THE MAP. FROM ATLAS TO HERMES: A New Cartography of Borders and Migration
If a map is indeed a visual narrative of the world, capable of inspiring imaginations and shaping perspectives, the conventional atlas falls short by predominantly narrating a singular story: that of the nation-state. This narrative confines people within national boundaries, enclosed by borders, and often portrays migration as threatening invasion arrows. Is it possible to transcend this definition?
